Sonalysts, Inc. proposes to provide the Air Force with a high-fidelity, PC-based environment to familiarize allied exercise participants with USAF air traffic procedures, tactical airspace operations, communication standards, and rules of engagement of Red Flag exercises in advance of their participation. The objective of Phase I will be the development of a Red Flag training and rehearsal proof-of-concept that will demonstrate the feasibility of combining research with a fielded commercial game application to create a cost-effective, integrated, and dynamic simulated training environment for allied pilots. The Sonalysts research project team has pertinent experience in military operations, commercial gaming, and advanced training technologies. This research project will provide the U. S. Air Force with a new capability to familiarize allied student pilots prior to arrival in the U.S. and will reduce overall Total Ownership Cost (TOC). BENEFIT: This research project will provide the Air Force with the capability to prepare allies for Red Flag participation by eliminating the current travel costs inherent in face-to-face host country preparation. The ability to Reduce Total Ownership Costs (R-TOC) in this fashion will demonstrate a direct benefit to other Air Force and DoD foreign training and FMS venues. This technology also has a strong commercial transition potential for companies and/or corporations interested in training-related R-TOC as it relates to their respective business lines.
