Abstract

Current state-of-the-art uncooled infrared bolometers suffer from 1/f noise which leads to pixel-to-pixel non-uniformities in focal plane arrays (FPAs). An improvement in 1/f noise is paramount. A larger thermal coefficient of resistance (TCR) would also benefit the technology. Bolometer technology typically relies on VOx or amorphous silicon, but other materials have been considered. K Lab corporation proposes to design, model, build a high sensitive,low noise uncooled focal plane array with high quality epitaxial colossal magnetoresistive manganites.
