Abstract

The proposed Mobile Port concept, consists primarily of a modular and rapidly deployable Floodable Jetty dissipate the required Pierson-Moskowitz Sea State 5 (SS5) energy, without any additional stabilizing anchors. Within the Jetty s lee, the Lightweight Modular Causeway System (LMCS) that has been under development by the US Army Corps of Engineers, Engineer Research & Development Center (ERDC) will provide a debarkation platform to shore for the offloading cargo. Finally, the Mobile Port Barge is included, which serves several functions, including a pier-head within the port, as well as a platform for storing the entire system at an intermediate base, a transit platform for towing or pushing the system to the port site, and a platform for maximizing rapid deployment of the Jetty and LMCS.
