Abstract

A CO2 laser with subnanosecond pulse duration and high pulse energy will be developed for double-resonance remote sensing lidar applications. An innovative technique for generating the ultrashort laser pulses will be utilized. A detailed conceptual design will be made during Phase I and a prototype laser will be fabricated and tested during Phase II.
