Abstract

The Design Knowledge Company (TDKC) is pleased to present this Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) proposal titled, Space Weather Integration Fusion Technology (SWIFT). Our proposed Phase II approach is focused on supporting AFRL with its mission of researching and developing space situation awareness (SSA) technologies and tools that provide the important space weather dimension and capability to the Joint Space Operations Center (JSpOC) mission. SWIFT will integrate an AF-standard User Definable Operating Picture (UDOP), advanced data fusion algorithms, an advanced , automated space weather mission impact matrix, and advanced geospatial visualization capabilities. To support SWIFT we will leverage progress made during previous efforts. This includes a data fusion tool to analyze historical abnormality reports from the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) space weather mission data combined with historical abnormality reports from the Defense Satellite Communications System (DSCS) satellites state-of-health (SOH) data. TDKC will leverage other software already accredited and plans to deliver a evaluation prototype of SWIFT to an operational Air Force space facility. BENEFIT: SWIFT will add important space weather data analysis capability to current operations. SWIFT has significant applications to existing Air Force application like JFCC Space JSpOC. Commercial opportunities exist with NASA and prime contractors as well.
