Abstract

This work will develop and test an Information Operations Training System (IOTS) prototype built upon an HLA federation consisting of the Naval Simulation System (NSS), OPNET Modeler, and 3DNV. The IOTS design philosophy relates IO metrics and effects generated by the NSS and OPNET Modeler simulation tools to the 3DNV visualization module. The objective is to provide a training and rehearsal system that allows visualization of IO events and their effects in real time. This effort will focus largely on Electronic Warfare (EW), Computer Network Operations (CNO), and Military Deception (MILDEC). The utility of the IOTS will be demonstrated with one or more IO-focused naval scenarios.
