Abstract

The system discussed in this proposal aims to overcome the complexity of the tag-out process execution by bringing technical drawings to life with supplementary metadata. This new information will include the identifying information for components on the drawing, and also the relationships between them. Consequently, generating a new tag-out becomes a visually guided process where selecting individual components automatically highlights their isolation paths and other affected components. The user can interact with the drawing to select and deselect components, or entire isolation chains, ultimately constructing an optimal and complete tag-out. In addition, by integrating the new tag-out system into the existing NTDPS environment, relationships to related maintenance activities can be identified and exercised to provide the user with a seamless and efficient view of the entire ship s maintenance picture.
