Abstract

Study indicates that Model Driven Architecture methods and tools are sufficiently mature and advantageous for use in building software to manage stores on Armed Unmanned Air Systems. The models can be used to optimize and manage the real time and safety critical systems thereby increasing war fighter confidence and reducing acquisition and integration costs over the life cycle of the system. The methods provide better determinism and portability in the software development life cycle. This Phase 2 demonstration takes commercially available tools and constructs a prototype of the real time safety critical system and immerses it in a system of system environment with air platform, communications, and weapon control models.
