Mobilisa proposes the creation of a tool which runs on a standard PC and provides users with a straightforward and standardized way of detecting and evaluating safety hazards in test and operational scenarios; similar in scope to the current Integrated Laser Hazard Assessment (LHAZ) program. The implementation will be based on our AIRchitect® software, an RF design tool based on ray-tracing techniques, combined with 3D visualization as implemented in the OpenGL graphics standard. The Phase I Proof of Concept showed that not only was it possible, but that this particular implementation was desirable due to the as-built algorithm enhancements within in the AIRchitect® software. Mobilisa proposes to expand the development of the RHAZ tool into a fully functional expert system for use by safety and medical personnel. Implementation will be fully three-dimensional in both function and visualization, and include the full RF spectrum. The design of the expert system will be such that a common user will be able to import a drawing of the area under investigation, select from a short drop-down list of building materials, select and locate RF radiating systems from a joint database, and the tool will then calculate and display hazard areas.
