Abstract

In this Phase II STTR Itri Corporation and the Naval Research Lab, Monterey, CA will Develop, demonstrate, and transition to operations an enhanced capability to support Navy operations world-wide with probabilistic mission impact information. We will exploit and transition the knowledge and experience gained in the Phase I STTR High Resolution Micro-Meteorological Tools for Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) Contaminant Transport and Dispersal Predictions and also from the ONR-sponsored University of Washington (UW) Multidisciplinary Research Initiative (MURI) on Integration and Visualization of Multi-Source Information for Mesoscale Meteorology: Statistical and Cognitive Approaches to Visualizing Uncertainty. This technology will be implemented to enhance the Environmental Visualization (EVIS) operational product at Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center (FNMOC), Monterey, CA., and to deliver probabilistic mission impact information to operations personnel in a simple to visualize and understand form.
