Abstract

This project will develop a toolkit for correcting the systematic point-of-regard (POR) error found in the eye position data produced by modern eye tracking hardware. The core idea of this project is the registration of graphical realities to the POR data. This registration enables the use of application-specific, contextual information to construct a probabilistic framework for correcting systematic eye sensor error in static and dynamic displays. This phase of the project will further validate and characterize the correction algorithms developed through the first phase of the project, use AFRL eyetracking data to further validate correction methods, develop a real-time correction environment that enables correction within advanced simulation and gaming environments, explore factors affecting correction, design a correction library, and implement the correction methods into a toolkit that can be used to support a wide range of eye tracking sensors and applications.
