Abstract

Silver Engineering, Inc. (SEI) and Planning Systems, Inc. (PSI) propose, in Phase II of this SBIR program, to develop and deliver a functionally tested, AFSCN-compatible Satellite Programmable Frequency Transceiver (SPFT) that is suitable for a short duration LEO satellite mission. The production SPFT architecture and EEE parts selection will support LEO satellites with missions of 3 to 5 years or shorter duration HEO missions. It is designed to be compatible with the MCU-110 Encryptor/Decryptor. The SPFT is capable of channel selection just prior to launch or in flight. In Phase I, we have fabricated the most difficult RF subsections of this radio, and are currently in the process of the initial functional testing. We have also set-up twoGNU software radio test stations which will be used in verifying the functionality of the SPFT in Phase I and will be developed during Phase II into a low cost, production SPFT test set.
