Abstract

Improved solid performance is needed to meet Integrated High Payoff Rocket Propulsion Technology (IHPRPT) Program Phase III goals. The principal objective of this program is to design and synthesize new compounds that have the properties needed for use as energetic solid propellant additives. The focus of the work will be the synthesis of new energetic heterocyclic compounds that are useful as solid propellant additives/oxidizers. Sufficient material will be synthesized for structure characterization and the preliminary determination of sensitivity characteristics.
