The objectives of this proposed program are (1) develop an extrusion process suitable for producing complex shapes of beryllium-aluminum with good surface finish, (2) determine mechanical and physical properties to demonstrate potential, and (3) define potential for property enhancements and cost reductions that could be achieved through continued development of this technology. The effort will involve development of suitable extrusion parameters for extruding cast beryllium-aluminum alloy, and development of capability to produce a deliverable complex shape of beryllikum-aluminum.
