Abstract

The primary objective of the overall project is to develop a system that incorporates our extremely lightweight, low power, small size thermal imaging camera into legacy NVG s without having to modify the NVG. A secondary objective is to maintain the performance of our thermal imaging camera, which by far exceeds the Army threshold for thermal imaging performance requirements, while keep the cost affordable in volume. The approach is to inject a micro-display image into the objective lens of a current image intensified night vision goggle using a miniature thermal camera. The approach will be achieved through the development and testing of a laboratory prototype, which will be used as a basis to design and manufacture pre-production prototypes that will be field tested.
