Abstract

JCIDS is the critical beginning of the joint requirements process; and is a multi-architecture and cross-architecture intensive means to bring rigor, discipline, and efficiency to understand and answer the complex questions necessary to effectively provide the systems of systems essential to national defense. Disparate automated tools have been developed to aid in accomplishing the many JCIDS analyses and provide JCIDS data and information products. However, the ability to effectively integrate the various tools, data and products in a single collaborative environ-ment does not currently exist. An additional significant aspect will affect future JCIDS practices Both JCIDS processes and tools supporting them will continue to evolve over time. The increasing legacy of JCIDS architec-tures and accompanying data will impose potentially severe loads on future developers. Trident Systems proposes research and development to produce an innovative technology solution to these challenges. The proposed work will successfully integrate JCIDS architectures and supporting data in a highly automated and tool independent col-laborative environment. This development will meet current multi- and cross-architectural integration needs and its tool indendent/tool neutral technologies will also allow graceful migration to the JCIDS processes and supporting tool infrastructures of the future.
