Abstract

The Phase II portion of this SBIR will provide CCRI the opportunity to continue the development of maneuver detection algorithms using Kalman filter(s) with the radar range rate measurement and other schemata. The primary focus of this effort will be to improve the tracking capabilities of the E-2C (the Hawkeye 2000, in particular) by developing an algorithm that will provide earlier and more accurate maneuver detection. To achieve this improvement, a maneuver detection algorithm will be developed that provides improved tracking capabilities and overcomes the limitations of the sampling inefficiencies of track-while-scan radars. This resulting algorithm will be integrated into the E-2C platform in 2009 to provide improved tacking performance.
