Abstract

The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) does not currently have an automated, centralized database to store Rad-Hardening (Rad-Hard) vendor data and corresponding test results. Portions of this data are currently stored in a spreadsheet, without consistency, distributed access, robust data search, filtering, or reporting capabilities. These data are not readily available to the developers of mission-critical MDA systems. In Phase I, Analytical Services, Inc. (ASI) developed and documented a set of design specifications to migrate the Rad-Hard data to a Web-based catalog, accessible only by authorized users, with centralized data storage and management functions. Respected members of the Rad-Hard community government personnel and prime vendors contributed to these specifications. In Phase II, ASI personnel will build upon the demonstrated Phase I prototype catalog and significantly enhance its capabilities. The catalog, with its underlying architecture and its interfaces, will accommodate: A. Storage of vendor-related data, test results, and technology communications; B. Interfaces to external Modeling and Simulation (M&S) assets; and C. Assignment of technology readiness levels. The completed Phase II product will be readily applicable for users within the industrial bases associated with U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and other federal agencies.
