Abstract

A new integrated modeling and simulation capability is proposed to substantially improve the predictions of transient dynamic loads for gas turbine engines. These improved loads enable a improvement in the determination of useful life remaining for hot section components. This effort includes compiliation of the necessary software elements to generate a fully coupled, transient analysis for the JSF gas turbine engine and a demonstration of that modeling capability through worked examples completed with the cooperation of Pratt & Whitney.
