Abstract

The miniature PDE systems developed under a previous Enigmatics/SAIC BMDO Phase II contract use a gaseous oxygen/liquid fuel system that operates at atmospheric pressures with a low mixture density. The size and performance requirements of the Pulsed Detonation Engines for the envisioned NMD application call for a monopropellant propulsion system that will have a high fuel density. We propose to develop such a system and demonstrate the detonability of monopropellant fuels with a high power density. This demonstation will enable miniature PDE divert systems suitable for MKVs.
