Abstract

SMI proposes to develop a high speed Superconducting Random Access Memory (RAM) in NbN operating at 10 degrees K with an access time wellbelow 1 nano seconds and a density in the tens of Kbit range. It's innovation lies in the fact thatno other memories with such speed and density arecurrently available. Such memory will be neededas data buffers in critical high speed signlprocessing and switching function.The Phase II effort will include the design,fabrication, and testing of the SuperconductinRAM.
