Space and military system designers have a significant and growing problem migrating from system solutions using radiation-hardened components to commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and "rad-hard by design" (RHBD) components. Current testing solutions are either custom built "one-off" solutions, expensive, and/or not easily portable. QuickFlex is extending prior successful work for NASA to create the Standardized Radiation Test Operations Platform (SRTOP). The SRTOP is ideal for radiation field effect testing of COTS and RHBD memories, processors, FPGA's, ASIC's, and ASSP's. This portable testing platform saves costs with faster time to production. SRTOP is a FPGA-based reusable standardized solution that enables consistent results, standardization of test fixtures, and sharing of test intellectual property. SRTOP is a new paradigm for advanced device testing, using both software test programs and reusable FPGA-based Test Hardware Objects (HWOs) to provide added flexibility, speed, and resources in an economically feasible platform. The platform includes QuickFlex's innovative Dynamic Logic Runtime Resource ManagerT software, a reconfigurable tester board, a Device Under Test (DUT) board, PC-based software for creating HWOs, monitor and control test programs with an intuitive multi-view graphical user interface. The SRTOP is an excellent platform for testing "radiation hardened by design" technologies in radiation environment.
