Abstract

The United States must recapture its position of manufacturing innovation if it is to remain a major, competitive player in the work economy. We at IAP Research, Inc. are attempting to contribute to this effort by aggressively pursuing a innovative technology call Dynamic Magnetic Compaction (DMC). The DMC uses pulsed magnetic forces to density advanced powder materials to produce high performance products that have commercial, military and dual use applications. This technology is an energy efficient, fast, and environmentally friendly process compared to conventional powder processing techniques. DMC technology has wide applications ranging from ceramic composites to metal products. The feasibility of application of DMC to different material products has already been demonstrated.
