Abstract

Advance millimeter wave (MMW) transceivers are needed to further enhance the U.S. military current and future communication, detection and guidance systems. TLC will develop and demonstrate a unique low-cost, wire-bond-free, 70-94 GHz W-band antenna integrated MMIC transceiver that also meet commercial performance, low price, and simplicity requirements. This transceiver will also provide excellent thermal management, high power and high resolution. This microelectronic transceiver will be developed by combining advance W-band lattice engineered epi-wafer technology with proven MMW circuit design, innovative low cost T-gate fabrication and unique circuit and assembly integration. The resulting minature antenna integrated transceiver will demonstrate low phase noise, low receive noise figure, good conversion gain, and high transmit power.
