Abstract

A Publish and Subscribe (P&S) architecture forms the foundation of the Joint Battlespace Infosphere (JBI) system, which is composed of protocols, processes, and common core functions permitting participating applications and organizations to share and exchange mission-critical information in a timely manner. The Air Force is examining various P&S standards that have the potential of forming the basis for a comprehensive JBI platform. Leveraging Architecture Technology Corporation's existing technologies in reconfigurable test tools and network-level system simulation, this SBIR research has successfully developed an innovative architecture for an Integrated Publish & Subscribe Architecture Test Harness (InPATH) that will enable distributed simulation and performance testing of multiple P&S systems on multiple platforms. This integrated solution will enable evaluation of P&S systems both under development and in operation. The proposed Phase II effort will build an easy-to-use and cost-efficient test harness that will provide JBI platform evaluators a powerful tool to test and assess the capability and performance of various Publish & Subscribe architectures.
