Abstract

The objective of this proposal is to continue the development of the innovative design that combines a surfactant-inert and water-selective filter cartridge with centrifugal separation, cross-flow filtration (CFF), Dean Flow surface cleaning, and back-flush techniques into an effective micro-filtration unit. In Phase I, the feasibility of these design features was demonstrated. Phase II will pursue advanced development to refine the design, optimize the performance, and build a 50 gpm prototype filtration system. The goal of Phase II completion is to bring the device to a commercially marketable state.
