Abstract

The ObjectAgent Software System Architecture is a new software architecture for real-time systems which require complex autonomous decision making as part of their normal operations. It is an agent-based architecture in which intelligent agents are used to implement all of the software functionality. This architecture can be used for flight and ground software. A key element is the agent messaging architecture which provides a reliable method for agent-to-agent communication both on a single processor and across networks. The architecture includes artificial intelligence tools to implement high level reasoning and learning which are essential to reliable autonomous operation.
