Abstract

With the DoD mandate for Integrated Product-Process Development (IPPD) has come the need for an IPPD tool suite. Since IPPD is both a management philosophy as well as a technical discipline (i.e. concurrent engineering). IPPD tools that bridge the management and technical aspect of IPPD are conspicuously absent. In Phase I, we created the system concept, design, and implementation architecture for ProcessIPPD, a platform-independent process modeling, verification, visualization, analysis, and redesign tool that will support both wide-area collaborative development as well as standalone use. In Phase II, we implement this tool and apply it to one ore more Navy-relevant applications. The successful demonstration and transition of this tool within programs of National significance will assure the successful operationalization of IPPD principles and practices within an unprecedented, easy-to-use, low cost-of-ownership IPPD tool.
