Abstract

We propose to continue the effort begun under the recently completed Phase I project, in order to design and fabricate a refined, electro-optically tunable, photonic band gap delay line. In contrast to the structure developed and tested under the Phase I project, which exhibited 10 picoseconds of maximum, mechanically tunable delay, the new structure will be tuned by electro-optic means, and will have a maximum delay of at least 20 picoseconds.
