Abstract

As a major part of our Phase I contract (DAAL02-91-C-0032), we designed, fabricated, and delivered four EMP shielded enclosures to ARL/Woodbridge Facility. Utilizing Value Engineering/Analysis, we were able to furnish these FOUR metal EMP enclosures, instead of ONE unit called for in the original SBIR RFP and our contract. In the course of researching and developing these enclosures, we identified several additional areas of EMP/EMI/RFI shielding that deserve serious consideration for funding under Phase II. Techniques for fabricating new ballistic composite shielding materials, solid and pressurized gasketing, and shielded plain and metal back plate polymeric enclosures are described.
