Abstract

Cosite interference, or self-jamming, occurs whenever operation of transmitting RF equipment interferers with operation of co-located receiving equipment. Ordinarily, such interference is avoided by design, through use of frequency separation, temporal separation or spatial separation. Oftentimes, however, the missions and constraints of military platforms preclude such straightforward solutions. The conventional cosite solution tools are well-known and widely deployed. The applicability of these solutions to the problem at hand varies. GIRD Systems proposes investigation of the conventional solutions as well as several novel approaches proposed herein. Through requirements capture, technical analyses, and computer simulation GIRD Systems will evaluate the alternatives and select the most promising approaches for Phase II prototype implementation.
