Abstract

Physical Sciences Inc. (PSI) proposes to develop the InstantEye Maritime Tagging, Tracking, and Locating (MTTL) small Unmanned Air System (sUAS) payload. The MTTL sUAS program addresses the key technical challenges of developing refined sUAS flight dynamics and controls under turbulent attachment conditions as well as tag attachment methods and mechanisms. The program leverages $Ms in private investment in InstantEye sUAS technologies, and follows a build-test-build approach. The program culminates in an at-sea demonstration of the MTTL sUAS, retires key technical risks in turbulent flight dynamics and controls as well as tag attachment, and sets the stage for a successor DARPA program.
