Abstract

The proof of concept demonstration of a tunable planar bandreject filter using hybrid ferroelectric and superconducting thin film technology has been successfully completed during Phase I. The objective of this second Phase is to develop a filter suite consisting of 4-5 filters that provides a tunable 40-dB notch over a 2-Ghz band at X-band. Improvements in ferroelectric materials and film growth will be researched at the University of Colorado. The filter suite will be tested for its nonr and dynamic switching characteristics. This filter suite will be integrated with the ALQ-172 self-protection jammer. Performance tests in response to the type of signals encountered in a hostile encounter will be performed in ITT's ALQ-172 test bed.
