Abstract

Systran Federal Corp. (SFC) proposes to develop innovative approaches and techniques to protect critical military technologies from reverse engineering. Focused Ion Beam (FIB) technology has recently emerged as a powerful tool to be employed by reverse engineers to conduct site-specific buried structure analysis, thereby defeating traditional hardware-based anti-tamper (AT) techniques. By countering or mitigating the effectiveness of FIB technology, SFC will delay reverse engineering, slowing an adversary as much as possible in compromising US technologies if they fall under their control. SFC has assembled a distinguished team to address this proposal. Our team includes researchers experienced in the technologies of AT, electronics, FIB, materials engineering, and chemistry. In conjunction with our university research partners, we are proposing a novel and innovative approach to meet the demanding requirements listed in the solicitation. At the conclusion of Phase II, we plan to have a pre-production version of our technology ready for immediate deployment in selected applications.
