Paper forms are labor intensive, time consuming, and prone to error. In order to address the shortcomings associated with paper forms, which the school districts use today, Infomosaic proposes to implement an electronic form framework. The framework is intended to allow any family of transactions currently carried out within county school districts to be converted from traditional paper to a completely paperless workflow. It will follow all existing business rules and practices as far as form content, approval routing, and audit controls. It will allow users to submit, review, and approve electronic forms from anywhere on the enterprise network or virtual private network, and from any existing workstation (Windows or Macintosh). It will provide an easy-to-use and efficient user experience. For example, the framework would gather data from existing on-line sources to assist a form submitter in completing a given form where possible. It will utilize modern, standards-based technologies in the framework development, including OD/OOP, XML/XSLT, .NET, and X.509 certificate based digital signatures. The framework will allow storage and retrieval of all signed documents by personnel with appropriate privilege.
