Not Available A major constraint in finfish larviculture has been the availability of large numbers of quality live food organisms at economically attractive prices. This project proposes means and methods to develop biotechniques necessary for high density rotifer biomass cultures using microalgae pastes. Recent research in husbandry, manipulation, maturation and spawning of a wide variety of finfish can now provide fry on a year round basis. For this technology to realize its value, highly nutritious, large numbers of rotifer and other live foods are critical necessary components. The proposed research is directed toward demonstrating commercial scale technical and economic viability of high density rotifer mass cultures using microalgae pastes as feed.
