Abstract

TITANIUM HYDRIDE REACTION WITH AMMONIA IN THE PRESENCE OF A NICKEL CATALYST TO FORM TITANIUM NITRIDE SHOWS UNEXPECTED KINETIC BEHANVIOR. A FUNDAMENTAL STUDY TO DETERMINE IF THE CAUSE OF THIS BEHAVIOR IS RELATED TO TITANIUM PHASE CHANGES IS PROPOSED. THE EFFECTS OF NITROGEN CONTENT ON WETTING OF TIN WITH NI WILL ALSO BE EVALUATED.
